Course Description
As the global impact of climate change accelerates, there is increasing awareness that human health is severely threatened. The Lancet Countdown recently warned that children born today will experience climate related illnesses throughout their lives, and extreme weather events such as fires and floods have underscored the urgent need to act now and prepare for the future. Just what are these threats to health and what can we do about them?
In this program devoted to Climate Medicine, UCSF faculty and associates explore these questions and highlight the impact of global warming on major health conditions, and describe how actions that mitigate global warming also create opportunities to improve the health of all people.
